An archaeological evaluation was undertaken by Cotswold
Archaeology in May 2014 on an approximately 3.25ha area of land
off Haroldslea Drive, Horley, Surrey which comprised the
excavation of thirteen, 50m long trenches (an approximately 4%
sample by area).
No archaeological features, deposits of note were found in the
present evaluation. Of the very small finds assemblage recorded,
none was earlier than the 16th century except two worked flint
artefacts. These included a Mesolithic/early Neolithic blade from a
tree-throw in Trench 13 and Neolithic/Bronze Age core from the
subsoil of Trench 4.
